@darth @drahardja great ad but most people won’t go back
@bgrinter @drahardja I could argue that going smartwatch was going backwards. It is so mentally exhausting. But then you realize you have heart issues and having a basic ECG handy is not so bad.
I agree. I hate my smart watch too but I use it because of heart problems.
My preferred timepiece is a Hamilton Khaki Field Officer.
@Ericthebeeover2 @bgrinter @drahardja you too? Sorry to hear. That Hamilton looks clean, I like self winding models.
@darth @drahardja same - for me it’s general health and fitness. As I get older the doctor reminds me to keep active and eat better so it’s more a health watch than anything smart watch
@bgrinter @drahardja I might get a Withings Scanwatch Nova someday, but it’s a bit pricey. I am not a fan of charging all the time so Withings would help with that and it looks like a watch :-)
@darth @bgrinter @drahardja I have an old Withings (actually, Nokia from when they bought Withings). It is nice since you only have to charge ~1 time per month. This one doesn't have the newer sensors; would like to get a newer model, but can't justify it since the old one works fine.
@darth @bgrinter @drahardja 80% of bad heart is really just unhealthy life style
@mattesilver @bgrinter @drahardja there is a lot of mental health issues in the world right now as well. this is tightly connected and can't just be fixed with: "start living healthy as a decision". In theory it can, in practice not very easy.
@mattesilver @darth @drahardja
Family history of high blood pressure and cholesterol, so change of diet and regular exercise
I know people much more unhealthy than me who boast none of those problems - yet
@bgrinter @mattesilver @drahardja I need to start that exercise. I am 43 ... did not start yet.
